Poetry For Life | Things my Father Taught Me

In this message, first preached in C3 Bathurst on 1 September 2024, Pastor Jeff begins our series "Poetry for Life" on the books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon. This series offers profound reflections on the human experience, from the value of our days to the deep search for meaning in our lives.

We are encouraged to consider one thing that our earthly father's have taught us that is still with us today - a 'thread of gold' in our life that we can attribute to our fathers, in the spirit of honour from Exodus 20:12. Pastor Jeff shared some personal examples from his life:

• Work with diligence (Proverbs 6:6-8)
• Love one woman intimately (Proverbs 6:32-33)
• Be devoted to your family (Proverbs 22:6)
• Enjoy life outside of work (Proverbs 19:23)
• Live life simply (Psalm 131:1)
• Be financially prudent (Proverbs 21:5)
• Give generously (Proverbs 11:24)

Chronicles of the Kings | Uncancelled - The Bad Kings of Judah

Looking at the "Bad Kings of Judah" including King Rehoboam, King Abidjan, King Jehoram, King Ahaziah and King Manasseh, we are challenged to think about our own idolatry and "self-kingship" today. We find encouragement knowing that we have hope in Jesus and it's how you finish that counts.

The Temple we find in Chronicles is like a blueprint. It is a visual representation of an image that already exists and a representation of how God wants his building (us) to look.
